Licensed professional counselor with a variety of experiences and skills. Helping people increase their self-understanding and reduce the conflict and emotional pain in their lives has been a lifelong pursuit for me, starting long before I chose to make it my vocation.
Since 2011, I have helped people from adolescence to retirement age tackle a wide range of mental health issues, including mood disorders, generalized anxiety, relationship conflicts, and complicated grief. My work is informed by numerous therapeutic frameworks, including psychodynamic models, cognitive-behavioral therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and experiential approaches. The strategies and techniques utilized will be based on your unique story, goals, and needs. The hallmark of my approach is the desire and ability to deeply and fully understand your specific challenges and what it will take to overcome them.
I have a particular affinity for working with people who struggle with depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem. I am passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families discover healthier and more constructive ways of communicating and interacting with one another. Some of my most rewarding work has been with clients who had been in therapy for years and considered themselves hopeless. A line from an Eagles song captures what I have seen to be true: So oftentimes it happens that we live our lives in chains, and we never even know we have the key. I firmly believe that with the right blend of support and challenge, almost anyone can change unworkable patterns in his or her life.
